Mission
Founded in 2010, the Stockton Maritime Museum’s mission is to create a permanent museum providing public access to Stockton’s historical and cultural heritage involving the use of ships to prosper its creation, growth and prosperity.
Vision
SMM will preserve the history of the maritime industry on the Downtown Waterfront, which was instrumental to our city’s founding, growth, international trade, and our nation’s defense.

A Message From the President, David Rajkovich
This year was a time of incredible progress for the SMM. We received our first state grant for design & permitting of our future museum site on Stockton’s south shore waterfront. We surveyed our community to refine our development plans and furthered community relationships. We continued our restoration of USS Lucid, leading a strip trip to Taiwan to source last-of-its-kind gear from the USS Implicit, the last ocean-going minesweeper in the world to be decommissioned. Your continued support of our efforts is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
